Environment
Affected Suites: Total Protection
Internet Security Suite
AntiVirus Plus
McAfee PC Security Center
Affected Products: McAfee Firewall
Affected Operating Systems: Windows 7
NOTE: If you are unsure what version of the McAfee Security software you have installed, please see article TS101107.
Problem
If McAfee Personal Firewall is running on a computer that has DLNA server activated, remote computers will be unable to access the DLNA server.
Solution
McAfee is aware of this issue and it is resolved in 2011 Security suites where the SecurityCenter version is 11.x or later. Until you upgrade, you must disable the McAfee Personal Firewall when attempting to connect to the DLNA server.
Follow the instructions below to disable the Firewall on the computer running DLNA server:
Double-click the M icon in your taskbar.
Click Navigation and select the Firewall link.
Click Turn Off.
NOTE: The Turn Off button will be available only when the Firewall is active.
Access the DLNA server from the remote computer.
NOTE: Turn the Firewall back on when you don’t require access to the DLNA server.
